A remaking has been on and off the cards for many years now, production has started nearly, a couple of times but due to an apparent "lack of interest" and may I dare say it but, " Downright anger", from hard core fans, the hopes of the remake just died out and did not come into being.

Sam and Bruce and producers always intended the original, "The Evil Dead", to be a shocker along the lines of "Last House" and "I Spit on Your Grave" but due to the "hammy" and admitted "overly melodramatic" amateur acting that occurred accidentally in their original, as time wore on people took it for a black comedy ...!

Bruce reiterated along these lines recently, "That Sam and I, intended it to be an unrelenting horror ride and we never intended it to seem funny or slapstick like gore, we wanted it to be a truly horrible film where everybody dies"!

Director Fede Alvarez, has obviously caught Sam and Bruce's attention with his short films, as "Evil Dead 2013" will be his first feature with a budget reported to be over £8,000,000, that's a lot of money these days, especially for a pure horror film.

As has also been said recently, "Evil Dead" was meant to be funny"! Not true, Sam, Bruce and the producers really wanted you to freak out and hoped to get you to leave the cinema!
